Abstract

This paper explores the rich cultural heritage of Puri, a district in Odisha, knownfor its deep-rooted traditions, particularly in folk dance and traditional art forms. The studydelves into the variety of folk dances, such as Gotipua, Pala, Danda Nata, and Naga MedhaDance, which play an integral role in the religious and social fabric of the region. Each danceform embodies the community's devotion, history, and artistic expression, often linked tofestivals and rituals. By analyzing these folk dance traditions, the paper underscores theimportance of cultural preservation and the enduring legacy of Puri's artistic and religioustraditions. This study aims to contribute to the broader understanding of how folk traditionsshape and maintain the cultural identity of a community.
