A Guide to Research Outreach

Sensitive Readings of Science

Abstract

The guide “Sensitive Readings of Science” offers science communication methods based on sensory and affective approaches to data interpretation. It is intended for anyone—researchers, science communicators, librarians, facilitators—interested in exploring new ways of engaging with research through reading, storytelling, or play. The guide includes dedicated sections on the three workshops developed during the project: Telling Science: workshops focused on narrating scientific stories From Tree to Leaf: a science slam-style workshop Your Turn to Play: a game co-design workshop
