TERN Monitoring in the Pilbara region, Western Australia. Summary of surveys completed to inform the West Australian Vegetation Extent (WAVE) Pilot Project 2025

Abstract

In 2025 the Western Australian Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) provided funding to TERN to conduct ecological surveys and uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) surveys in the Pilbara bioregion. These surveys were conducted in part to collect information that can be used as training and validation data for the Western Australian Vegetation Extent (WAVE) pilot project. This document provides a summary of the surveys completed and data collected between April and July 2025.
