Thermodynamic competition and methane oxidation differentially regulate CH4 flux across hydrologically and geochemically diverse wetlands

Abstract

This is the data corresponding to the paper studying methane dynamics in 6 wetlands in North Dakota from the Prairie Pothole Region (PPR) of North America. Data used in this study includes newly collected microbiology data (16S rRNA amplicon sequencing, metagenomics, metatranscriptomics), and enviornmental geochemistry (methane and carbon dioxide flux and porewater concentration and methane isotope data). The newly assembled metagenome assembled genomes (MAGs) were combined with MAGs from the MUCC v2.0.0 (10.5281/zenodo.14532347) database to create a larger ecosystem database that the metatranscriptomes were mapped to.
