Abstract

This dataset consists of water column measurements collected from a trace metal CTD during the CLIVAR/GO‑SHIP repeat hydrography section P16S from 9 January to 16 February 2005, a meridional transect in the South Pacific from roughly 17°S to 71°S. Station metadata, hydrographic data, and cruise documentation are provided by the CLIVAR & Carbon Hydrographic Data Office (CCHDO) under expocode 33RR200501. A trace-metal clean rosette was used to collect seawater from the upper 1000 m of the water column and then subsampled in a clean van for salinity, nutrients, and dissolved trace metal samples. Filtered (<0.4 µm) samples were collected for shipboard analysis by flow injection methods for dissolved Fe, Al, and Mn concentrations and shore-based ICPMS analysis for Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd, and Pb at Florida State University.
