Integration of Teachers' Technological Competence on Enhancing Students' Digital Literacy

Abstract

The growth of social media users in Indonesia has shown a significant increase, reaching 26% annually, with a total of 180 million users or equivalent to 62.9% of the total population. This study aims to analyze the integration of teachers’ technological competence in enhancing students’ digital literacy at the junior high school level, particularly at Tunas Utama Junior High School, Karawang. This research employs a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach to gain an in-depth understanding of teachers’ experiences and practices in integrating technology into learning. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), and observations. The data were analyzed inductively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the integration of teachers’ technological competence has been implemented relatively well, as evidenced by the utilization of various digital platforms in learning and the availability of adequate supporting infrastructure. However, limitations remain in aspects such as digital collaboration, ethical use of technology, and information security.
