
The purpose of the study was to find out the comparative effect of yoga on anxiety among university level male and female volleyball players. To achieve the purpose of the present study, thirty volleyball players in that, fifteen male volleyball players and fifteen female volleyball players from Pudukkottai, Tamilnadu, India were selected as subjects at random and their ages ranged from 18 to 25 years. The groups were divided as male volleyball players (MVBG) and female volleyball players (FVBG) in an equivalent manner. Anxiety was measured by Ducklows anxiety scale. The yoga training given for both the groups for a period of six weeks for alternate three days in a week and the post-tests were taken. To find out the difference between the two groups paired âtâ test was used. The result reveals that the female volleyball players showed better reduction on anxiety than the male volleyball players.
