Flood Susceptibility Map Over Europe benefiting from the latest high-resolution satellite observations

Abstract

General Description This dataset provides high-resolution flood susceptibility maps (FSM) over Europe, delivered in Cloud Optimized GeoTIFF (COG) format. The maps represent a probabilistic assessment of flood susceptibility by integrating dynamic variables: soil moisture, precipitation and AlphaEarth foundation model embeddings (64 features). The dataset supports disaster risk assessment, flood hazard mapping, and spatial planning, enabling consistent and comparable analysis across the Europe. Data Details Coordinate Reference System: EPSG:4326 Geographical coverage: Europe File format: Cloud Optimized GeoTIFF (.tif) Data type: Flood Susceptibility Index (probabilistic) Temporal coverage: Representative of climatological conditions (annual model output) Name Convention FSM_1-km_MED-epsg.4326_v01.tif FSM_0.5-km_EU-epsg.4326_v02.tif Where: FSM = Flood Susceptibility Map 1-km & 0.5-km= spatial resolution MED= Mediterranean region EU= Europe epsg4326 = coordinate system v = version Support For questions or issues, contact: h.mosaffa@reading.ac.uk
