Arthur Cayley: Collected Mathematical Papers, Source-Checked Modern LaTeX Slice Readers

Authors: Manuscript Typesetting Project;

Arthur Cayley: Collected Mathematical Papers, Source-Checked Modern LaTeX Slice Readers

Abstract

Dedicated Arthur Cayley author record for source-checked modern LaTeX slice readers, repaired diagrams, TeX sources, and continuation manifests. The current reader surface includes a complete source-checked Volume I reader and volume-level slice readers for most collected-papers volumes. This 2026-06-03 sequential Volume IV pass replaces the reader-page 37 placeholder for the printed p. 51 quartic and quintic determinant/coefficient arrays in Paper 232, the reader-page 243 printed p. 246 coefficient table, the reader-page 249 printed p. 253 quartic standard-form table, and the printed pp. 254--255 quintic standard-form table spread with source-checked native TeX. The Volume IV reader is now 496 pages after restoring the two-page quintic table spread. It also preserves the earlier scan-backed native TikZ reconstruction of the Volume XIII square diagrams for Paper 966, the Volume IV hexahedron net in Paper 259, the Volume X theta-characteristic geometric symbols in Paper 701, the Volume X p. 347 annexed diagram for the 179 irreducible syzygies in Paper 693, and the Volume V p. 463 secondary-caustic plot in Paper 359. The source/manifest supplement includes the repaired TeX slices, current residual-marker scan, Cayley progress and cost inventory, and workflow notes separating represented TeX coverage from source-checked faithful transcription. Remaining open work is now concentrated in dense Volume IV coefficient/Tschirnhausen tables, later plates, and table-layout pages tracked in the manifest.Status at a glance. [########--] public reader coverage: thousands of rendered pages across current volume readers; [#######---] scan-faithful cleanup: many diagrams, determinant arrays, and known malformed areas repaired, with 18 current reader-visible term hits across 16 pages after this pass; [#########-] provenance: source TeX chunks, repair packets, audit notes, and GitHub mirror preserved, while large raw provenance remains on the main preservation record.
