Gasless Streaming Micropayment Metering for Services

Abstract

Pay-per-use autonomous services (API/MCP calls, compute, tokens) require sub-cent metered streaming, but the x402 pay-first model compounds latency and per-transaction cost across thousands of calls, collapsing micropayment utility. Prototype a payment-channel or batched gasless-settlement contract on Casper that meters continuous consumption and settles net amounts periodically. Evaluate on effective per-call cost and throughput (calls/sec), settlement latency, and payment-failure rate versus one-on-chain-transaction-per-call as the baseline.
