Abstract

This report synthesises findings from 10 peer-reviewed papers addressing the following research question: Can cross-encoder models with manifold-aware objectives maintain competitive accuracy on standard retrieval tasks (e.g., SQuAD, TriviaQA) while improving performance on adversarial benchmarks, as. 10 claims were extracted from source literature; 10 were independently verified against retrieved documents.
