Raw Astronomical Images for enhancing resolution with MSSR algorithm

Abstract

This dataset contains a processed, resampled 2D astronomical image slice derived from observations taken at the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory (CTIO). The data belongs to "The Carina Time-Series Deep Field" observing program. The images have been used for MSSR algorithm to solve stars near arrouns the Sparrow Resolution Limit. 🔭 Source & Instrumentation Telescope: CTIO 4.0-m telescope Instrument: Dark Energy Camera (DECam) Observing Program: The Carina Time-Series Deep Field Principal Investigator: P. Hartigan (Proposal ID: 2019A-0101) 📊 Technical Specifications File Format: FITS Standard (SIMPLE = T) with 32-bit floating-point pixels (BITPIX = -32). Array Dimensions: $101 \times 101$ pixels (FITS core grid) / Subset slice of $23 \times 19 \times 49$ pixels (ImageJ metadata). Only present the 4 files used used in the study. Pixel Scale: 0.27 arcsec/pixel (symmetric on both axes). Observation Band/Filter: $z$-band DECam SDSS (9260.0 Å central wavelength). Data Processing Level: Resampled image (PROCTYPE = Resampled). Astrometric Reference: ICRS / FK5 coordinate systems with successful WCS calibration. ⏰ Observation Timeline Observation Start Date: 2019-03-12T05:00:52 UTC Modified / Final Export Date: 2026-03-09T08:48:08 Exposure Duration: 60.0 seconds (EXPTIME = 60.0) Mean Julian Date (MJD): 58554.20894 📍 Target Coordinates (Exposure Center) Right Ascension (RA): 10:45:18.85 ($161.3286^\circ$) Declination (DEC): -59:41:09.2 ($-59.68589^\circ$) 📝 Usage Notes & Quality Flags Image Calibration: The dataset has undergone crosstalk correction, overscan removal, flat-fielding, and brightness star masking (DESDM pipeline). Ambient Conditions: Observed at an airmass of 1.16, outside temperature of 13.4°C, and relative humidity of 31%. Data Values: Pixel flux values range from 1526.34 to 17996.03.
