Data for "Epidermal microstructure and tactile sensitivity in the glabrous skin of hands and feet"

Abstract

This dataset accompanies the paper "Epidermal microstructure and tactile sensitivity in the glabrous skin of hands and feet", by James Hall, Gabriela Gonzalaz Salas Duhne, Olivia Wallis, Clare Howarth, and Hannes Saal. Included are: Hall2026_All_measures.xlsx: This Excel file contains all perceptual thresholds and mechanical/structural skin measures reported in the paper and underlying the reported LME models, along with participant demographics. Hall2026_Raw_OCT_Volumes.tar: This TAR-file contains TIFF volumes of the raw OCT data from which 3D sgmentations were generated. Volumes can be opened in standard software, e.g. ImageJ. Participant and trial numbers correspond to those in Hall2026_All_measures.xlsx. Hall2026_Segmented_Point_Clouds.zip: This Zip-file contains all segmented point clouds as PLY files for the stratum corneum (SC) and viable epidermis (VE), from which all structural measures contained in Hall2026_All_measures.xlsx and reported in the paper were calculated.
