Abstract Papaya seeds almost always end up in the trash when people eat the fruit, but those little black seeds actually hold some interesting bioactive compounds—things like alkaloids, flavonoids, and phenolics. These substances aren’t just there for show; they can fight microbes and act as antioxidants. Here, I collected papaya seeds, cleaned them up, dried them out, and ground them into powder. Then, I used ethanol to extract the good stuff. After the extraction, I ran some basic lab tests to see if the extract could do anything useful, like stop bacteria from growing. The process doesn’t require fancy equipment or much money, making it perfect for a college lab. This study makes it clear: papaya seeds, usually tossed out as waste, can actually be turned into valuable natural resources.
