Digital Library e l'Ecosistema digitale per la cultura come opportunità di public engagement

Abstract

This poster illustrates the model underlying the creation of a digital ecosystem designed to function as a collaborative and distributed environment. In particular, it highlights how modeling both the knowledge domains of cultural heritage and their interrelationships constitutes the cornerstone for overcoming the limitations of traditional information systems. Ecomic, the Digital Ecosystem for Culture promoted by the Central Institute for the Digitalization of Cultural Heritage, is conceived as an enabling infrastructure that transforms data into services to foster public engagement. The architecture is based on the integration of platforms dedicated to digitization, data management, and analysis, placing domain-specific and cross-domain knowledge graphs at its core. These tools overcome the fragmentation between archives, libraries, and museums, creating a relational semantic network that enables new forms of cognitive participation. Furthermore, through the use of artificial intelligence for data enrichment and application cooperation models, Ecomic promotes collective access to cultural heritage
