Abstract

This is the experiment code bases and data for USENIX Security 2026 paper: "Regular Expression Denial of Service Induced by Backreferences". There are 3 files: rewbguard.zip: The REwB superlinear runtime detector. (Used to be named as "REBASIL" or "SLMAD".) atkre.zip: A regex runtime measurement tool with drivers for multiple regex engines. snort2_regex_data.zip: Input and sample output datasets of the two previous softwares. The initial input regexes are extracted from Snort 2 registered rule set. Please see the README in each archive for detail.
