Romney: Classical Cultural Consensus Analysis

Abstract

Romney is an R package that implements classical cultural consensus analysis for multiple-choice, binary, and ordinal or interval data. It provides formal, covariance, and informal agreement models, together with competence estimation, consensus diagnostics, and answer-key estimation. The package was developed to support reproducible cultural consensus analysis in an open-source environment and to closely reproduce the classical results reported by 'UCINET' and 'ANTHROPAC' for the procedures covered here. Romney is designed for anthropological and social-scientific research on shared cultural knowledge, cultural competence, and agreement structure across respondents.
