E-PAN Workshop 2026 | PanBARLEX: Easy Access to the Gene Space of the Barley Pan-Genome V2

Abstract

PanBARLEX is a data exploration portal for genes and orthogroups of the pan-genome of 76 diverse barley genotypes. The portal provides access to 3,797,824 genes and 95,237 orthogroups - PanBARLEX portal This presentation was included in the workshop organised by the E-PAN consortium, which showcased the outcomes of the E-PAN project and its contribution to advancing pan-genome analysis in plants (May 18th 2026). The E-PAN project was funded through ELIXIR Commissioned Services: Science Tier Biodiversity, Food Security and Pathogens. It focused on improving and standardising plant pan-genome analysis, addressing key challenges such as quality control, gene presence and absence, structural variant detection, data integration and visualisation.
