Project Jarāʾid: Snapshot of bibliographic metadata from Wikidata for all Arabic periodicals published worldwide before 1930

Abstract

Regular snapshot of all bibliographic data from Wikidata for Arabic periodicals published worldwide before 1930. This repository contains RDF for all Wikidata items of the first-order: periodicals, people involved in the publishing process, and collections the periodicals are found in. Data are serialised in Turtle and JSON-LD with one file per Wikidata Item. Filenames start with the QID of the Wikidata item. The data model can be found in the linked publications, but depending on available information we strive for the following property statements for periodicals: type of publication publication dates publication intervals editors places of publication holdings digital remediations The data set is composed through a set of SPARQL queries and API calls and invoked by a CI pipeline on our institutional GitLab instance. Details can be found in the linked software repository.
