Abstract

In this chapter, using examples from the Iberian part of the ancient Crown of Aragon, we look at the ways in which a complex second-hand market, which played a very important role in the economy of the last centuries of the Middle Ages, was structured in different cities. The essay analyses the different second-hand markets that converged in these cities, the regulations created for their operations, the goods involved and the protagonists of this market, trying to understand the functions that resale and recycling played in late medieval society.
