Abstract

El sistema reproductivo de los insectos Coleoptera es anatómicamente tan diverso como las especies de este grupo. Para su estudio anatómico se divide en la genitalia interna, de origen mesodérmico, y la genitalia externa, de origen ectodérmico. La genitalia interna en las hembras está formada por los ovarios, los oviductos comunes y las glándulas accesorias, si existen. Enlos machos está formada por los testículos, los conductos eferentes, los deferentes y las glándulas accesorias. La genitalia externa en las hembras está formada por el oviducto común, la cámara genital, la espermateca con la glándula espermatecal y las glándulas accesorias. En los machos está formada por el conducto eyaculador, el bulbo eyaculador, las glándulas accesoriasy el edeago. La cámara genital y el edeago corresponden a la genitalia externa propiamente dicha y es empleada para fines taxonómicos.
