Abstract

In vielen Fachbereichen ist Forschungssoftware ein essentieller Bestandteil des Forschungsprozesses, sei es z.B. als Simulationswerkzeug, zur Auswertung oder Aufbereitung von Daten. In den vergangenen Jahren ist die Wahrnehmung von Software als Kernstück für die Reproduzierbarkeit von Forschung, aber auch als eigenständige wissenschaftliche Erkenntnis immer stärker gestiegen. Durch die Research Software Engineering (RSE) und Open Science-Bewegungen, liegt zunehmend ein erhöhtes Augenmerk auf der Verfügbarkeit und Qualität von Forschungssoftware. Wir sehen bei dem Thema viele natürliche Anknüpfungspunkte zu aktuellen Tätigkeitsfeldern wissenschaftlicher Bibliotheken in anderen Kontexten, z.B. bei klassischen Zeitschriftenveröffentlichungen oder im Forschungsdatenmanagement. Darüber hinaus gibt es an einzelnen Bibliotheken bereits weiterreichende Angebote. Diese reichen von der Fortbildung und Unterstützung in Bezug auf Forschungssoftwareentwicklung bis hin zu Entwicklungsservices.
