[OME2026] Contributor Perspectives: What Makes the OME Community?

Abstract

The OME Community is in a period of transition, spurred by leadership transition and an increasingly global and de-centralized base of support and contributions towards the next generation file format. This period offers both the opportunity and necessity to reflect on the governance of the community and experience of contributors. In this presentation I summarize results from the 2026 OME Community survey, intended to kickstart discussions around community priorities and governance during the 2026 OME Community Meeting in Dusseldorf.
