
The Indian judicial system suffers from an enormous backlog of cases, with 4.5 crore pending cases. Artificial Intelligence (AI) could transform the process of delivering justice by making it efficient and accurate. The current paper evaluates the prospects and problems associated with the adoption of AI technology in the Indian justice delivery system. In particular, this paper highlights the constitutional and legal framework for adopting AI, the advantages and disadvantages of using AI in the Indian justice delivery system, and recommendations for the successful integration of artificial intelligence. The current study examines the role of AI in improving case management, documentation review, and predictive analysis in the Indian judicial system. Furthermore, the paper evaluates some of the obstacles to implementing AI technology in India and suggests ways to mitigate these risks. The research provides a useful contribution to the field of justice delivery in India, as it evaluates the opportunities and challenges associated with the introduction of artificial intelligence in the judicial process.
