Reference Large-Eddy Simulations of the upper-ocean boundary layer from the CATKE calibration suite (Wagner et al., 2025)

Abstract

Dataset containing reference LES of the upper-ocean boundary layer used to formulate and calibrate CATKE, "a one-equation turbulent-kinetic-energy parameterization for microscale ocean mixing" (Wagner et al., 2025). Two complementary file sets provided: NetCDF bundle (~95 MB) with horizontally-averaged 1D profiles, and JLD2 originals (~310 MB) with instantaneous turbulence statistics.
