PCTO 2025 ICMATE-CNR and L.S.S. E. Fermi Padova

Abstract

The experience of students from Liceo Enrico Fermi at the ICMATE-CNR laboratories in Padua provided an engaging and formative opportunity that effectively combined theory with hands-on practice. Over the course of a few days, students were introduced to the daily activities of a research institute, closely observing researchers at work while gaining familiarity with advanced scientific instruments and real experimental methodologies. By actively participating in laboratory activities, the students developed a deeper understanding of the scientific process, appreciating the importance of rigor, curiosity, and collaboration. Beyond technical skills, the experience also fostered critical thinking, observation, and communication abilities. For ICMATE researchers, this initiative reflects an ongoing commitment to science outreach and education, in line with the CNR’s “third mission” of promoting dialogue between research and society. The program aimed not only to փոխանց knowledge but also to inspire students, highlighting science as an accessible and exciting path driven by curiosity and passion.
