"HLS-CMDS Heart and Lung Sounds Dataset: UNIWA ICU-LAB Curated, Organized and Normalized Version"

Abstract

"This record presents the UNIWA ICU-LAB curated and normalized version of the Heart Set (HS) and Lung Set (LS) subsets of the HLS-CMDS dataset. The original HLS-CMDS dataset, \u201cHeart and Lung Sounds Dataset Recorded from a Clinical Manikin using Digital Stethoscope\u201d, was created by Yasaman Torabi, Shahram Shirani, and James P. Reilly and is available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).This adapted version includes 50 heart sound recordings and 50 lung sound recordings that were individually reviewed and manually processed by Konstantinos Evgenikos and Dimitrios Papageorgiou. The processing workflow included basic integrity checking, metadata organization, quality control, subset structuring, and audio normalization using Audacity 3.7.5. The aim of the processing was to improve consistency and comparability across recordings while preserving the original acoustic characteristics. This dataset is a derivative\/adapted version of the original HLS-CMDS dataset. The original recordings and metadata remain attributed to the original authors and licensed under CC BY 4.0. Any rights associated with the UNIWA ICU-LAB version concern only its own original contributions, including the curation, organization, processing documentation, metadata enhancements, subset structuring, and normalized derivative files, to the extent legally protectable. No endorsement by the original authors, McMaster University, Mohawk McMaster Institute for Applied Health Sciences, UCI Machine Learning Repository, Mendeley Data, IEEE, or any affiliated institution is implied.Suggested citation:Evgenikos, K., & Papageorgiou, D.
