Abstract

manera de concebir la práctica profesional en los diferentes campos del conocimiento, la salud no ha sido ajena a esta penetración, al empleo de estas tecnologías en este campo se ledenomina eSalud. En el 2011 la Organización Panamericana de la Salud puso en marcha la Estrategia y el Plan de Acción sobre eSalud con el propósito de mejorar el acceso y la calidad de los servicios de salud, en los países que pertenecen a esta organización, y de esta manera facilitar el desarrollo de sociedades más informadas, equitativas, competitivas ydemocráticas. En tales sociedades, el acceso a la información de salud se considera un derecho básico de las personas. En este documento se presenta una panorámica de como se ha implementado esta estrategia en México, concluyendo que si bien en el país existen estrategias de eSalud que han funcionado, los esfuerzos han sido aislados y no existe una política gubernamental que promueva su desarrollo, por lo cual se observa que hay entidades federativas que han logrado avances importantes en esta materia sin embargo hay entidades en donde la aplicación de la eSalud ha sido muy limitada.
