THE EFFECTIVENESS OF COMMUNICATIVE, CLIL, AND TASK-BASED APPROACHES IN ENHANCING LANGUAGE AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of three modern language teaching approaches-Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), and Task-Based Learning (TBL)-in enhancing both linguistic proficiency and professional competencies among learners. In the context of globalization and the growing demand for workforce-ready graduates, traditional language teaching methods are being supplanted by interactive, learner-centered approaches that emphasize real-life communication and interdisciplinary integration. Employing a qualitative analytical methodology, the study examines how CLT fosters communicative competence through authentic interaction, how CLIL integrates subject-specific content with language learning, and how TBL promotes problem-solving and critical thinking through real-world tasks. The findings reveal that these approaches significantly enhance language acquisition, professional skills, and learner engagement. The study concludes that integrating CLT, CLIL, and TBL offers a comprehensive pedagogical framework suitable for modern higher education.
