Liderazgo femenino en áreas STEM

Abstract

La presencia de mujeres como líderes o con cargos directivos en campos, profesiones o disciplinas de Ciencia, Tecnología, Ingeniería y Matemáticas (STEM por sus siglas en inglés), se ha consolidado en los últimos años como un tema esencial en el ámbito social y académico, debido a la importancia que reviste en la economía. El objetivo del estudio fue realizar una revisión sistemática de la literatura sobre el liderazgo femenino en áreas STEM, con el fin de identificar tendencias de investigación, principales barreras, aportes y vacíos existentes en la producción científica reciente. El proceso de búsqueda se desarrolló en las bases de datos: SCIELO, Redalyc, Google Académico y DOAJ, considerando estudios publicados entre 2016 y 2026, en español e inglés. Tras aplicar los criterios de inclusión y exclusión, se seleccionaron 40 artículos para su análisis. Los resultados aportan evidencia de que la mayor parte de las investigaciones se concentran en México, Estados Unidos y España, predominando los enfoques cuantitativos. Las variables estudiadas muestran los enfoques más relevantes de los estudios seleccionados como el número de mujeres en puestos de liderazgo, dificultades que enfrentan las mujeres para ocupar un lugar de liderazgo y también variables que hablan de los beneficios de su participación. La revisión confirma que, pese a los avances en participación femenina en campos STEM, persisten las desigualdades en el acceso a posiciones y puestos directivos, lo que demanda acciones institucionales y políticas con enfoque de género.
