THE IMPACT OF METABOLIC SYNDROME AND ITS COMPONENTS ON CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES

Abstract

Metabolic syndrome (MS) is a complex condition that includes several interrelated diseases and risk factors. These include impaired glucose tolerance (IGT), overweight and obesity, arterial hypertension (AH), and dyslipoproteinemia. Metabolic syndrome significantly increases the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases and is considered one of the major public health problems worldwide. The combined effect of its components leads to metabolic and vascular disorders, which contribute to the progression of heart and blood vessel diseases.
