Implicaciones Del Maltrato Infantil en el Desarrollo Cognitivo de la Primera Infancia en Colombia.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. The main objective of this research was to reduce the implications of child abuse on early childhood cognitive development in Colombia. The methodology was developed using a qualitative approach based on the participatory action method. The sample consisted of a total of 18 students aged between 5 and 6 years old and 26 parents or legal guardians. The most significant results showed that 54% had suffered some form of abuse in their childhood, while 46% responded that they had not. When asked about their individual perception of whether violence can affect children's health, 46% responded that it is very likely and 27% responded that it is likely. In contrast, 15% and 12% responded that it is very unlikely and unlikely, respectively, that it affects children's health. Finally, it was concluded that the predominant types of abuse in the child population under study are physical and psychological abuse.
