Dataset of Search Engine Results: Comparative Analysis between Google (Algorithmic) and Perplexity AI (Generative)

Abstract

This dataset contains raw search result data used for the comparative study "Transformation of Information Bubbles: Comparative Analysis of Algorithmic and Generative Search (Case Studies of Google and Perplexity)". The study evaluates 9 specific search queries across two platforms: Google (traditional search engine) and Perplexity AI (generative AI search). The data includes full text outputs, source links, and AI-generated summaries to analyze the structural differences in information delivery.

Keywords

filter bubble, digital ecosystem, large language models, media environment, algorithmic bias, generative search
