Ashwagandha Withanolide D for Androgen Receptor-Mediated Ductal Development

Abstract

Withanolide D from Withania somnifera acts as a selective androgen receptor modulator, enhancing AR nuclear translocation and transcriptional activity specifically in reproductive ductal tissues. It promotes expression of HOX genes (particularly HOXA10 and HOXA11) essential for Wolffian duct development while upregulating anti-Müllerian hormone receptor signaling pathways.
