Abstract

The article theoretically and practically analyzes the problem of developing teachers' professional competencies in the modern education system. Professional competence is a complex of knowledge, skills, abilities, and personal qualities of a teacher necessary for the effective implementation of pedagogical activity. The article covers the types of competencies, ways of their development (professional development courses, mentoring, self-development, collaborative learning, research activity), and their impact on the quality of education.
