DISTINCTIVE FEATURES AND DEVELOPMENT TRENDS OF DEMOGRAPHIC PROCESSES IN THE KHOREZM OASIS DURING THE YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE (ANALYSIS OF 1991–2025)

Abstract

This research analyzes the demographic transformations of the Khorezm region of the Republic of Uzbekistan, characterized by its unique hydrographic and regional features, between 1991 and 2025. Based on archival statistical data and modern reports, the article comparatively examines population growth dynamics, birth and death rates, urbanization processes, and changes in the migration balance. In particular, the sharp increase in population density and the "aging" trend of the population's age structure over the last 30 years are highlighted based on scientific forecasts.
