This paper outlines the collaborative development of the ADMIRAL emission-aware logistics marketplace, which incorporates sustainability into logistics sourcing by enabling emissions transparency, standardized calculation, and informed supplier selection. The paper presents the development pathway of the emission-aware logistics marketplace and discusses the main challenges encountered during its pathway. Furthermore, we present the structure and key features of the evolving marketplace as it is today. The insights gained provide useful information for researchers and for future digital platform developers seeking to promote more sustainable logistics solutions.
