
GRAVITY+ has improved by orders of magnitude the performances of long-baseline interferometry, effectively providing one of the most sensitive instruments from the ground in the VLT era. While ELT will break the glass ceiling of ground-based instruments in terms of point-source sensitivity and inner working angle, the science capabilities of GRAVITY+ - milli-arcsescond angular resolution and micro-arcsecond astrometry - will remain unmatched and highly complimentary of the ELT, in particular MICADO in the near-infrared. Here, we will focus on the synergies between GRAVITY+ and ELT/MICADO for the studies of protoplanetary disk (milli-arcsecond angular resolution, micro-arcsescond spectro-astrometry) and exoplanets (micro-arcsecond astrometry, 10-6 contrast at 100mas), at the light of the recent GRAVITY+ observations in those areas.
