JAR Reaper Ambisonics Bundle — companion to "The B-Format as Score: Composition, Interpretation, and Spatial Form in Ambisonics"

Abstract

This bundle is the companion REAPER environment for The B-Format as Score:Composition, Interpretation, and Spatial Form in Ambisonics (Johannes Schütt, 2026),submitted to the Journal of Artistic Research (JAR) via the ResearchCatalogue platform. It turns a freshly installed REAPER into a configured playground for thepaper's ambisonic experiments: pre-configured ReaScripts, Lua helpers,JSFX plug-ins (notably Raumpartitur_Analyzer.jsfx), the SpaceScoreintegration (Python + Lua + JSON example data), and a starter ProjectTemplate for user experimentation. What the ZIP contains (tool only): Scripts, Effects (JSFX), Data,UserPlugins binaries (ReaPack, SWS, Helgobox for Apple Silicon),configuration files, Templates/SpaceScore/ (Python companion + docs),ProjectTemplates/Default/ (scaffold), and the install guide as README.md. What the ZIP does not contain — but is needed per experiment: REAPER.app itself (licensing reasons — install from reaper.fm into thebundle folder per README §3.2). The IEM, ICST, and SPARTA plug-in suites (install per README §3.4–3.6). Each experiment session (HeadTracking_Demo, JAR_MultiDecoder, M-series,Rethinking Thought study sets, etc.) is published as a separateZenodo record with its own DOI. Download only the sessions you need. Target platform: Apple Silicon macOS 13+ (Ventura, Sonoma, Sequoia).Tested on REAPER v7.69 / IEM v1.15.0 / SPARTA v1.8.2. Windows 10/11 nottested; see README §4. License: Bundle documentation, scripts, JSFX, and configuration areCC BY 4.0. Third-party components retain their own licenses (see README §8). Reproducibility: This bundle has been verified against README §6Verify the install. See the accompanying test protocol record forSHA-256 hashes, test date, and per-check results.
