The diverse outcomes of binary white dwarf mergers and connections to Galactic LISA sources -- White dwarf merger data

Abstract

This dataset contains all white dwarf merger data produced in Kremer et al. 2026. The four "WDmergers" tarballs contain all mergers for each Galactic population for the four COSMIC assumptions: fiducial, alpha25, alpha5, q3 (see publication for description of the different models). Each of these in turn contain 60 hdf files encompassing: Four white dwarf type combinations: 10_10, 11_10, 11_11, 12_10_12 Fifteen metallicity bins ranging from -2.3 10^{-3} Hz. This is intended as a rough proxy for the total number of resolvable white dwarf binaries in the LISA band today. See Thiele et al. 2023 for a more detailed calculation computing the SNR of each of these sources.
