STATISTICAL STUDY OF DEVELOPMENT OF THE DIGITAL ECONOMY IN UZBEKISTAN

Abstract

In this paper, there is a detailed statistics-based review of the growth of the digital economy within the Republic of Uzbekistan. Contributing to the country's digital transformation, there is also a presentation of a quantitative description of the level, growth, and structural aspects of the digital economy within the Republic of Uzbekistan within the mentioned years, such as 2018-2023.In order to also contribute towards the digital transformation of the country, there is a use of statistics from the State Committee of Statistics of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as other international statistics, thus including a review of growth indicators such as the GDP contribution of the information and communication technology industry, the internet and fixed internet penetration, e-commerce, and growth of digital financial services. There is a use of a descriptive technique, thus including a technique of analyzing and comparing the digital growth of the Republic of Uzbekistan with other countries within the region and analyzing growth indicators such as GDP contribution of the information and communication technology industry, internet and fixed internet penetration, e-commerce, and growth of digital financial services. Metrics of growth of the digital economy of the Republic of Uzbekistan are presented, thus showing that there is a phase of intensive growth of digital infrastructure and utilization, with a difference between the urban and rural areas of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
