¿Desinteresados?

Abstract

News consumption in Chile has changed profoundly in recent years. Various analyses point to a sustained decline in access to news information in traditional formats. Part of the public shows signs of exhaustion and disinterest in journalistic content, leading to occasional access or conscious avoidance of current events. In this report, we focus on these segments of the population to understand people's current relationship with the news, specifically those who have been moving away from traditional news formats, whether because they have low overall news consumption, because they frequently avoid the news, or because they perceive that their news consumption has decreased compared to a year ago.
