
Cybersecurity has become one of the most critical concerns in the digital era due to rapid technological advancements and increasing cyber threats. With the expansion of digital infrastructure, cybercriminals exploit vulnerabilities in networks, databases, and cloud systems. This study investigates modern trends in data protection and cybersecurity with special reference to fraudulent cyber cases in Maharashtra, India. Statistical data were used to analyse various types of cybercrime incidents and the effectiveness of different cybersecurity mechanisms. Statistical analysis including ANOVA was applied to compare cybersecurity methods. Results indicate that advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence-based threat detection, blockchain security, and multi-factor authentication significantly reduce cyber fraud cases compared to traditional security methods. The study highlights the need for integrated cybersecurity strategies combining technology, policy, and user awareness.
