Abstract

The article examines unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) as an important area of modern aviation development. It describes the main stages of their evolution, from early primitive radio-controlled devices of the early 20th century to advanced modern systems equipped with automatic control, satellite navigation, and artificial intelligence technologies. Special attention is given to the key factors that influenced UAV development, including military needs, scientific and technological progress, and economic efficiency. The role of UAVs across different historical periods is analyzed, including world wars, the Cold War, and the modern era. The study highlights the significance of UAVs in both military and civilian applications and their impact on contemporary operations and technologies.
