Peridontal disease and Diabetes Mellitus: Perception and practices Among Physicians at KBTH

Abstract

This dataset is from a study exploring physicians' perceptions of the association between periodontal disease and diabetes mellitus and how these perceptions translate into their management of patients with diabetes. It was conducted in a teaching hospital in Accra, Ghana. It includes demographics, items regarding curricular exposure to oral health, knowledge of periodontal disease, and awareness of the bidirectional relationship. It also covers items on interdisciplinary practice, such as the provision of oral health counselling and referrals to dental offices. It also covers barriers and facilitators to interdisciplinary practice regarding the association.
