A Palaeogravity calculation based on weight and mass estimates of Ankylosaurus magniventris

Abstract

There is great interest in calculating accurate values for Earth’s palaeogravity. One fundamental techniqueto quantify palaeogravity is to compute weight against mass estimates of ancient animals. This technique isapplied to the quadrupedal armoured dinosaur Ankylosaurus magniventris AMNH 5214 specimen. Theresults indicate a palaeogravity of 0.69g ± 20% is a reliable estimate for 67 Ma.
