Abstract

A collection of scour depth data from a variety of literature sources: Sumer et al. (1992) Sumer et al. (2001a) Sumer et al. (2001b) Dey et al. (2006) Kawata & Tsuchiya (1988) Chen and Li (2018) Qi and Gao (2014) De Lemos et al. (2024) Rudolph & Bos (2006) Hoballah Jaloul et al. (2026) Schendel et al. (2020) Note that this overview is reproduced from available literature sources, the author has not collected any of the data himself. Parameters that are reported are: D50: Median grain size Dp: Pile diameter hw: Water depth Tp: Wave peak period L: Wave length Um: Wave orbital velocity Uc: Steady current velocity Ucr: critical velocity for sediment entrainment KC: Keulegan-Carpenter number Ucw: Relative velocity KC*: modified Keulegan-Carpenter number as per a recent manuscript submitted for review (to be updated after review cycle) ReD: Pile Reynolds number hw/Dp: Ratio of water depth and pile diameter Dp/D50: Ratio of pile diameter and median grain size Dp/L: Ratio of pile diameter and wave length Seq/Dp: Non-dimensional equilibrium scour depth, where the depth is made dimensionless with the pile diameter.
