Physical impact from Coastal Flooding

Abstract

This dataset contains the spatial distribution of mean damage in RV1 at the building level produced by a Tsunami-induced Coastal flooding, as presented in the associated study. Contents Buildings_Disaggregation.shp: polygon layer of buildings obtained via the disaggregation procedure proposed in the study and associated data Tsunami.aux.xml: raster of coastal flooding flow depth Mean Damage - Costal flooding (Tsunami).lyrx – symbology layer for mean damage to buildings generated by coastal flooding inferred by Tsunami Tsunami Flow depth - H(m).lyrx – symbology layer for coastal flooding flow depth Attributes IDAG: unique building aggregate identifier BldCount: number of building units within the building aggregate Material: most frequent material within the building aggregate Age: most frequent construction period within the building aggregate Storeys: most frequent number of storeys within the building aggregate Usage: most frequent usage class within the building aggregate (RESIDENTIAL, INDUSTRIAL, or EXCLUDED from disaggregation) Tsunami_H_: Tsunami flow height (m) muD_tsunami: Mean damage from Costal flooding The dataset represents the results of a simulation-based assessment of damage to buildings generated by coastal flooding inferred by a Tsunami. The mean damage is evaluated at the building level within a virtual testbed representative of typical Italian coastal urban contexts, Coastal Returnville (RV1). For visualization consistent with the figures presented in the paper, the provided .lyrx files should be applied to the shapefile. Coordinate system WGS84 – 33N Notes Results from building disaggregation reported in the shapefile correspond to the mode (i.e., for each feature, the most frequent within the building aggregate). For further information regarding each building unit, the user should refer to the associated matlab file (Disaggregated_building_data.mat). The file Disaggregated_building_data.mat is a cell-array with the number of elements corresponds to the number of building footprints in Buildings_Disaggregation.shp. Each cell-array is a 3x9x14 (MATERIAL-CONSTRUCTION PERIOD-NUMBER OF STOREYS) matrix with the number of building units within the aggregate. MATERIALS is: 1=MASONRY – 2=REINFORCED CONCRETE – 3= OTHER MATERIAL CONSTRUCTION PERIOD is: 1 for <1919, 2 for 1919–1945, 3 for 1946–1960, 4 for 1961–1970, 5 for 1971–1980, 6 for 1981–1990, 7 for 1991–2000, 8 for 2001–2005, 9 for >2005
