The tropical coastal climate in Genuk District, with its high temperature and humidity, and significant rainfall throughout the year, potentially increases the risk of seasonal illnesses, particularly respiratory infections such as colds and flu in children. Parents' lack of understanding of the differences between colds and flu often leads to delayed treatment and a lack of awareness of warning signs. Therefore, a health promotion activity entitled "Education on the Differences between Flu and Colds and How to Handle Them" was conducted, aimed at increasing parents' knowledge and awareness regarding the differences in causes, symptoms, severity, prevention, and treatment of colds and flu in children. This health promotion activity was held on May 1–3, 2025, at the Karangroto Sehat Pharmacy, Genuk District, Semarang City, with parents as the primary target. The methods used included distributing leaflets and individual education accompanied by an interactive question and answer session. A total of 20 participants participated in this activity and showed a positive response with active participation throughout the activity. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding of the differences between colds and flu, appropriate initial treatment methods at home, warning signs to watch out for, and efforts to prevent respiratory tract diseases in children. This activity is expected to be a promotive and preventive effort in supporting the improvement of children's health in the community, especially in the Genuk District area.
