Environmental Sustainability at the Advanced Computing Facility

Abstract

The Advanced Computing Facility is the High Performance Computing data centre of EPCC. It is one of Europe’s largest research computing data centres and is acknowledged by the AI and HPC community as a global leading supercomputing site. EPCC is committed to ensuring that this global leading data centre is also a global leader in environmental sustainability. EPCC is committed to ensuring the ACF reduces it’s carbon footprint and contributes to the University of Edinburgh being zero carbon by 2040. This poster will present a range of initiatives being carried out at the ACF to improved environment sustainability including cooling infrastructure improvements; energy efficiency of systems; monitoring and biodiversity.
